Kennebec River Day, Brewfest June 30 at Augusta’s Mill Park

AUGUSTA — The Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce will host the Kennebec River Day and Kennebec River Brewfest at Mill Park on Saturday, June 30.
The events will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free for River Day, and admission will be at the gate for the Brewfest.

In the past, past years, the chamber has organized Kid’s Day in Capitol Park, which was was transformed to Kennebec River Day last year, bringing the river tradition back.
Kennebec River Day is for all ages with games, inflatables, craft vendors, food and three stages with live entertainment.
There will be dozens of free games and activities throughout the park. A 150-foot inflatable military style obstacle course with tires, giant barriers, a robe swing, and a vertical wall to climb will be available for friends to challenge each other and see who has the skills to win. The knights in shining armor put on an amazing show jousting, fencing, and more in period costumes. Touch-a-Truck brings your toy truck collection to life. The Augusta Fire Department will be on hand with their fire truck and ambulance displays. They will also demonstrate the Jaws of Life on a real vehicle.
Other specialty trucks will be on site including an O&P glass truck and a Zamboni from the Maine Ice Vault. Other activities include making slime, disc golf, face painting, a dunk tank, meet and greet with retired race dogs, and lawn games. Food vendors will be serving up dishes ranging from the traditional burger and fries to Philippine food to fried pickles to macaroni and cheese and so many more options.
Brewfest attendees will be given wrist bands, including one for the designated driver of the group. Participating breweries are Bangor Beer Co. (Bangor), Baxter Brewing Co. (Lewiston), Bigelow Brewing Company (Skowhegan), Cushnoc Brewing Co. (Augusta), Definitive Brewing Company (Portland), Flight Deck Brewing (Brunswick), Grateful Grain Brewing Company (Monmouth), The Liberal Cup (Hallowell), Liberty Craft Brewing (Liberty), Tumbledown Brewing (Farmington), Two Gramps Brewing (Gardiner) and Waterville Brewing Company (Waterville).
