Free hospice training offered in Farmington

FARMINGTON — A free seven-week hospice training course, sponsored by Beacon Hospice, will be offered beginning Thursday, March 1 at the Mt. Blue Adult Education Center.
The training educates potential volunteers in how to support their community members as they maneuver through end of life challenges and is facilitated by volunteer coordinator with registered nurses, medical social workers, and chaplain speakers.

The training covers the many different hospice volunteer roles. The classes will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
“Beacon Hospice volunteering is not about a patient’s demise, it is about their living,” organizers said.
