Kennebec Land Trust Winter Fun Day at Curtis Homestead is Feb. 10

WINTHROP — The Kennebec Land Trust will hold its ninth annual Family Winter Fun Day, 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, at Curtis Homestead Conservation Area in Leeds.
The homestead is the childhood home of former Maine Gov. Kenneth M. Curtis, Rebecca Curtis Meredith and Joyce Curtis.

The program is part of the state-wide Great Maine Outdoor Week. Bring cross-country skis or snowshoes and spend the afternoon exploring this wonderful 360-acre conservation property.
If the snow is right, the Land Trust would love participants to build a community of snowmen. Bring whatever biodegradable accessories you’d like to use.
Hot chocolate, s’mores, and other snacks will be served around a bonfire in the field. A few pair of children and adult Winthrop Plays Outside snowshoes have been borrowed from the Bailey Public Library for use. First come, first served.
