1929 –2017

AUBURN — Jean B. Murray, 88, of Turner, passed away Saturday, July 8, at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice. Born April 20, 1929, in Lewiston, the daughter of Leonard W. Bonney and Olive (Jones) Bonney, she was a 1946 graduate of Leavitt Institute in Turner.
She married Oliver “Gus” Murray Aug. 14, 1948; they owned and operated Murray Oil Company in Turner. Gus passed away May 7, 2008.

Jean enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved playing golf and riding a motorcycle. She had a great love for traveling and adventure. She couldn’t wait to see what was around the next corner, and she never met a stranger. Jean touched many, many lives.
She is survived by a son, Randy Murray and wife Mary of Turner; her beloved grand-dog, Annie Mae; two daughters, Bonney Murray of Turner and Colleen Calhoun and husband Jim of Florida; grandsons Jonathan Murray and fiancĂ©e, Laurie Donavan, of Turner; and Jared Murray and wife Krista of Turner; a granddaughter, Jennifer Dinovelli, of California; great-grandsons Aidan Murray of Turner and Jack Murray of Turner; her “Magnificent Other,” George White of Turner; a brother, Weston Bonney, of Portland; a sister, Kathleen Matthews, of New Hampshire; and a nephew, Dana Longway and wife Tina of Turner.
